Vibrant Communities
Learning, embracing and leveraging the diversity of all people in our region will improve our lives and communities. An open mind, a caring heart, and a willingness to address one’s ignorance about others are necessary to create a just, caring, respectful and vibrant community. We can all benefit from a new level of engagement and desire to learn about, support and to fully capitalize on the rich mosaic that is here in our district. This mosaic is the key spice needed to create a vibrant community.
Leaders are expected to serve, collaborate, and drive progress. Leaders must be a model of: “doing what is right”, “getting results, and “working together”. Today we are too divided to make real and lasting progress. This must change. All leaders, regardless of political affiliations must improve our fiscal management, ethics, vision and discipline. They, also, need tenacity, teamwork, compassion, respect of others and urgency to get needed results. I have been a respected and effective leader in business and desire to serve as a leader in public office. Today’s challenges will require the best from all of us. I am committed to bring my best in order to make a difference in this important leadership position for our communities.
Do we believe we can and deserve to have progress? Do we want to live in vibrant and thriving communities? Will each of us choose to be part of the solution? Do we realize if “we are not part of the solution we are part of the problem?” Do we believe that most people want the same thing and are willing to partner for change and progress? I am choosing to step up to a new level of engagement, locally, to be part of the solution in order to address our current crisis and to create a better future. I am requesting that each of us take on a “can do”, positive, hopeful mindset and make new choices to be part of new solutions for our district. If we choose, together, all things are possible. Let us work together and make the 2nd Franklin District a “community” where all people can coexist, thrive, and enjoy life.
