All people should have access to high quality education. Our educational systems need to equip all people throughout their lives with knowledge, skill development, common sense, and connections. Continued investment and innovation in education is essential. Education must enable all people regardless of their background to realize their potential, engage fully in life, and contribute and compete in society, democracy and our economic future.

Education is one of our top priorities and investments. We need to insure that we maximize the return on every dollar spent and continue to look at the economies of scale in regionalization. These innovations must support improved education.

We need to address underfunded state mandates. The original intention and funding was good; however, conditions have changed. There must be flexibility and revisions of these well intended directives. I believe that engaging stakeholders who are committed to a high quality of education, fiscal responsibility and innovation will generate the solutions necessary to address today’s challenges and to insure we have the best solutions for our future.

Our country has lost its leadership position in the world on education and we must regain it. The United States is still the leader in the world on innovation; therefore, we must bring this innovation to our educational systems to regain our global leadership position.

Investing in professional development, technology, performance benchmarking, curriculum development, new delivery models and community support will be key in regaining our global educational leadership. We know that education is the fundamental catalyst to deploy for change and progress. We must always bring our absolute best to educate all people in our district. Innovation and never being satisfied with the current state will provide critical improvement. I am committed to partner, lead and support the work necessary to insure we have the best educational opportunities and results for all our citizens.
